Sola Takahashi is a research associate for the Learning Teaching program at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. She supports the integration of improvement science in school districts as a member of the Building a Teaching Effectiveness Network (BTEN) project. She also conducts rapid-inquiry cycles on both the BTEN and Assessing-Teaching-Improving-Learning projects. Broadly, she is interested in the role teachers play in urban school reform efforts, and she is trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. She received her Ed.D. in education policy, leadership, and instructional practice at Harvard University. Sola previously taught at an elementary school in San Leandro, California. She received her teaching credential and M.A. in education from the University of California at Berkeley, and she holds a B.A. in sociology and studio art from Wesleyan University.
