Diane Downend joined the Carnegie Foundation in 2020 as finance manager. She previously worked in public accounting for Deloitte & Touche on audit and advisory services for privately-held companies and non-profit organizations. She later shifted her focus to real estate development and wealth management. Downend also has an extensive background as a community volunteer working for affordable housing and education causes, including her service on the boards of directors for Mid-Pen Housing and for Palo Alto Partners in Education.
Downend received a B.S. in Accounting & Finance and an M.B.A. in Organizational Sociology from UC Berkeley.
