Senior Strategic Program Manager, PMPS
Position Purpose

We are seeking a Senior Strategic Program Manager to support our Organizational Learning and Development strategy. This role will work closely with leadership and staff across the organization to plan and execute programs and projects to become a world-class learning organization with an equity-focused, entrepreneurial culture. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, innovative leader with proven success helping organizations improve.
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Program Management (60%)
- Support the planning and execution of programs and projects associated with the Organizational Learning and Development portfolio, including those related to organizational learning, organizational culture, knowledge management, strategy management, project management, and core business processes within finance, human resources and information technology
- Develop a 5-year strategy that includes targets, milestones, and outcomes for each project and enables all parties to view the progress being made towards the portfolio’s various goals
- Improve organizational change management and manage work plans, staffing, dependencies, communication, and program and project monitoring
- Develop strategic plans, business cases, and feasibility studies for new initiatives
- Research and analyze current organizational processes, provide data to support recommendations for improvement, and work with teams to apply those improvements
- Develop and conduct training on business processes and systems with Foundation Staff
Organizational Learning (20%)
- Act as the central point of synthesis for information from multiple sources (external industry research, multiple internal teams, etc.) to support continuous learning and integration of best practices
- Establish systems to identify and disseminate learning within the Foundation, and improve practices and processes based on learnings
- Operationalize the Foundation’s goal to become an entrepreneurial, equity-focused world class learning organization in organizational culture and processes
Budget Development, Maintenance & Management (20%)
- Develop and manage project and program budgets based on relevant grant deliverables and essential program work, including making projections and encumbrances for known and expected expenses
- Create contracts with external development partners and consultants and monitor and track contract spend rates
- Process financial documentation in accordance with the internal accounting system
Non-Essential Responsibilities
- Be a champion, role model, and key contributor to the Foundation’s goal to become an entrepreneurial, equity-focused world class learning organization as we work with more external partners and add new members to our team
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and direct experience in project management
- Project Management Professional certification or demonstrated mastery of Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework
- 8 years of experience as a project manager implementing a version of PMBOK framework
- 5 years of senior project management experience
- 5 years of experience with budget maintenance, management, and use for programmatic decision-making
- Experience designing and leading organizational effectiveness and change management strategies
- Experience developing effective structures for collaboration, including establishing shared goals, clear roles and decision-making processes
- Experience facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholders
- Experience developing and delivering training on business processes, procedures and systems

- Ability to navigate complex and multi-faceted, matrixed organization environments
Required Technical Skills
- Very strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Apps, expense management tools, and video conferencing platforms) with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and software
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency using project management software
Required Physical Abilities
- Position requires some travel, approximately 6 trips per year
- This position will require spending time frequently keyboarding and looking at a computer screen, and participating in virtual meetings
