When and where will the 2021 Carnegie Foundation Summit on Improvement in Education be held?

The 2021 Summit will be a virtual event. While we are taking this direction due to the pandemic, we also see it as an opportunity to offer expanded and innovative learning and networking opportunities.

To start, the 2021 Summit will span two weeks. The first week (Summit On-Demand Week) will run April 19–23 and be focused on pre-recorded sessions and posters that participants can view on demand. Summit Pre-Conference Courses will be offered as standalone sessions on Sunday, April 25, and Summit Live—expanded this year with an extra day—will run Monday, April 26 through Wednesday, April 28. What does the General Conference registration fee include?

The Summit general conference registration fee includes access to Summit On-Demand Week, Summit Live, and the Summit Digital Library. Summit On-Demand Week will take place the week of April 19 and will focus on the pre-recorded sessions and posters. Summit Live will take place Monday, April 26 through Wednesday, April 28 and includes all keynotes, breakout sessions, and networking activities. Recordings of all Summit content will be available in the Summit Digital Library following the April event. Registered attendees will have access to the library until the end of 2021.

What does the Pre-Conference registration fee include?

New for 2021: Registration for the Summit general conference is not required to register for a pre-conference course.

Pre-conference registration provides you with access to one of the nine pre-conference courses on Sunday, April 25 from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. PST. Since all pre-conference courses run concurrently, you may only register for one. Pre-Conference courses will not be recorded and so will not be available in the Summit Digital Library.

What types of payment methods do you accept for registration?

Credit card, check, or purchase order (PO) are all accepted forms of payment.

Payment by Check: Within 30 days of registration, please mail your check and a copy of your registration confirmation email and/or the name and organization of each registrant to which the check applies to: Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Attn: Summit Registration Accounts Receivable, 51 Vista Lane, Stanford, CA 94305

Payment by PO: Within 30 days of registration, please email your PO and a copy of your registration confirmation email and/or the name and organization of each registrant to which the PO applies to AR@carnegiefoundation.org. All POs should be made payable to the Carnegie Foundation.

Please note that only payment by credit card will be accepted after April 1, 2021.

How can I access an invoice or proof of payment after I register?

Click on the “modify registration” link included in your registration confirmation email to access your registration details. You will need to enter your registration confirmation number. Once you have gained access, click on the “print invoice” button at the top of the page.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Pre-Conference Course cancellations completed prior to 11:59 p.m. PST on April 18, 2021, will receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee.

General Conference cancellations completed prior to 11:59 p.m. PST on April 18, 2021 will receive a full refund minus a $100 processing fee.  If a cancellation is completed for an attendee who has received a group discount (five or more registered together), the discount will no longer apply if the cancellation causes the group size to drop to four or less.  The standard registration rate will be applied to the remaining group members and they will be responsible for remitting the difference.

Refunds may be granted after April 18, 2021 if an attendee is unable to attend Summit Live due to a family death, illness, or other extraordinary circumstance.  In such a circumstance, Summit Registration must be contacted by e-mail at SummitReg@carnegiefoundation.org. Refunds will be subject to a $100 processing fee.
