In this session, staff from UCLA Community School, a k-12 public school, will share their journey and their learnings in using Improvement Science principles to improve chronic absenteeism. They will share how engaging stakeholders who do not historically have a voice in decision-making like the office staff and the supervision aides accelerated organizational change leading to positive student impact. They will also present their learnings and nuanced understanding of why chronic absenteeism continues to exist in schools and what policy makers can do to address these barriers at a state, city, and district levels.
