Through the pairing of community authority and continuous improvement science, ImpactTulsa and Power of Families used a model of community-led facilitation and trusted promotoras to identify barriers experienced by the Latinx community when enrolling in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Improvement networks of nonprofit partners and community members who have been impacted by the problem were later convened to co-develop solutions that increased access to information about WIC enrollment. Using continuous improvement, the network identified multiple change ideas that partners could adopt within their agencies to eliminate barriers that were experienced when enrolling in WIC.
