As a learning leader and improver, Marytza Gawlik seeks to integrate research to formulate more effective and efficient ways to promote knowledge, teaching and learning across Carnegie.  Marytza leverages her role in ways that can impact the success of students for improvement and innovation in schools, districts, and institutions of higher education (IHEs) to anticipate and respond to challenges and opportunities in a continuous learning community.

She served as a Senior Research Associate at the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University. As a faculty member, Marytza’s research and expertise spans policy, economics, and organizational sociology, focusing primarily on early childhood, leadership, accountability, and school choice.

Marytza earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Policy, Organization, Measurement and Evaluation from the University of California at Berkeley, a master’s degree in economics from the New School for Social Research and attended The Bronx High School of Science.
