Aim Statements

This one-page reference summarizes the purpose of an aim statement or improvement goal. It highlights key characteristics of an effective aim and considerations for scoping.

An aim statement focuses a team or community’s improvement effort by defining what will be improved, by how much, for whom, and by when. An aim is a tool that can be leveraged to inspire collective action and motivate stakeholders to work toward desired outcomes.
