This session, recorded for on-demand viewing as part of the 2021 Summit on Improvement in Education, presents six dispositions of educational improvers, as well as organizational resources and conditions that can foster them.

While ample attention has been paid to developing the technical capabilities needed by educators, organizations, and networks to mobilize improvement work, we know less about the cognitive, behavioral, and identity shifts that occur among educators as they learn to adopt an improvement orientation in their professional practice.

This session, recorded for the Carnegie Summit on Improvement in Education in 2021, shares six dispositions of improvers and the types of enabling conditions that may help foster them.  The dispositions were identified through an investigation of this topic using data from semi-structured interviews of 22 educators involved with networked improvement communities.
