How to Beat Mounting Student Debt? Shorten College.

With President Donald Trump back in the White House, the Democrats’ promise of billions of dollars in student debt relief for millions of Americans has evaporated. But the problem is still with us. Student debt in the U.S. now tops $1.74 trillion. That’s more than the GDP of most countries.

Unsurprisingly, Americans’ belief in the value of the college degree is slipping as the cost of earning a degree is growing. A study by the Pew Research Center last year found that only one in five American adults surveyed felt a four-year college degree was worth it if it required taking out loans. Another 47% said a college degree is worth it – but only if you don’t have to go into debt.
