Improvement in Education: So Now What?

This essay, authored by Alicia Grunow, introduces a draft of a shared agenda for the field of improvement in education. It was introduced and offered as a stimulus for discussion at the Spring 2025 National Summit on Improvement in Education.

The essay builds off the 2011 paper, “Getting Ideas into Action: Building Networked Improvement Communities in Education” by Anthony Bryk, Louis Gomez, and Grunow, as well as an earlier essay by Bryk and Gomez prepared for a 2007 American Enterprise Institute Conference, “Ruminations on Reinventing an R&D Capacity for Educational Improvement.”
