Leadership for Transformation: Using Identity to Improve Practices, Processes, and Outcomes

60-min | In-Person
Focus Areas: Educator Development; Equity, Diversity, and Belonging; Improvement Capability; Postsecondary Innovation

We will tell the story of how the UChicago Network for College Success Postsecondary Team builds leadership and capacity of school counselors and college/career coaches in Chicago Public High Schools to embrace and utilize improvement science to transform student experience and ultimately postsecondary outcomes. Our story includes how the team started with technical skills in improvement science but found little follow through from the community, and then layered on the human side of change by exploring their own identities, mindsets, and habits, while simultaneously gathering student voice data, resulting in creating and testing change ideas to improve their practice.
