Behaviors of Organizations Orchestrating Large-Scale Improvement

To take a successful idea and turn it into large-scale change requires more than just strategic planning.

It requires changes to the daily work habits of an organization. That’s the central point of Inside the Command Center, a recent piece in the Stanford Social Innovation Review by The Billions Institute co-founders Joe McCannon and Becky Kanis Margiotta. The article lists 10 behaviors, such as regularly returning to the shared aim and avoiding intertia, of organizations that move initiatives from theory to action.

Joe and Becky will be co-presenters at the upcoming Carnegie Foundation Summit on Improvement in Education, from March 2-4. They will be leading a session on spreading evidence-based changes. Registration is still open for the Summit and you can find out more information on how to register here.
